A major connectivity upgrade is coming for the commuters from Noida and Greater Noida. FOR PHASE 1: A NEW METRO LINE IN NOIDA DIRECTOR NMRC This comes on the back of their approval for extending the Aqua Line, which will provide a direct connectivity from Noida to Delhi via Botanical Garden.
Workers commuting to Delhi from Noida and Greater Noida will soon get a major relief as 16 new metro stations are set to connect the two neighbouring regions to the national capital.
Phase 1 — Four New Metro Stations
The revision is held for the initial stretch of the Greater Noida West corridor. It is total at four stations as opposed to the 11 stations originally planned. These stations will be mostly located at vital residential and travel spots: Sector 61, Sector 70, Sector 123, and Greater Noida Sector 4 (Gaur Chowk).

The new line would be interchange with Delhi Metro Blue Line at Sector 61. That means, passengers going from Noida, Greater Noida and Delhi can easily interchange. It is expected that this connection will greatly reduce travel time and make commuting much more comfortable on a day-to-day basis.
Limiting Expansion Soon, but More to Come
Initially, it had planned to extend the line further up to Knowledge Park V over a distance of 18 km. The project now stops at Gaur Chowk for Phase 1. The remaining stretch of the route can be constructed at a later date by NMRC or jointly with the proposed RRTS project, officials said.
Residents unhappy over delays
People at Greater Noida West are miffed over the delays and preparation of an entirely new DPR. It houses more than 5 lakh people in the area but there is no reliable public transport. This makes people dependent on the vehicles hence automobiles, auto-rickshaws and cabs, which is cause massive traffic congestions.
Extension of Aqua Line to benefit lakhs
The 11.56 km extension of Aqua Line, between Sector 142 and Botanical Garden is also among the proposals. This will directly connect Noida and Greater Noida to Delhi. Once completed, it is likely to benefit over 4 lakh daily commuters and largely enhance the ease-of-use of public transport in the region.
