New Metro Route in Gurgaon: Stations, Phases and Status
Gurgaon's new metro line will run 28.5 km from Millennium City Centre, the last stop of the Delhi Metro's Yellow Line, to Cyber City, with a short spur to the Dwarka Expressway. The Union Cabinet approved it on 7 June 2023. Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) is building it in two phases. Work on the first is under way, and the civil tender for the second went out in October 2026.
A correction. An earlier version of this page gave the 2023 cost and a 2027 finish, said the Phase 2 tender would open in March 2026, and said the spur to the railway station was on hold. The record now shows a revised cost approved by the Haryana cabinet in May 2026, a 2028 target, a Phase 2 tender cleared on 1 October 2026, and state approval for the spur in May 2026. The old page also gave ridership, train speeds, a depot size and property price rises with no source; those are gone.
This page describes the routes in words, from the approval, the contractor's stock-exchange filings and news reports. It has no map, and GMRL's tender papers are the final word on station names.

Phase 1: Millennium City Centre to Sector 9
Phase 1 starts at Millennium City Centre, where passengers will change from the Yellow Line, and runs by way of Subhash Chowk and Hero Honda Chowk to Sector 9. It includes the spur from Basai to Sector 101 on the Dwarka Expressway. The stations named in reports at the tender stage are:

Lists published at different times differ on a few names, and on the count: 14 or 15.
The civil contract went to a joint venture of Dilip Buildcon and Ranjit Buildcon. Dilip Buildcon told the National Stock Exchange that the venture's bid, ₹1,503.63 crore with GST, was the lowest, and that the letter of acceptance came in August 2025 with 30 months to finish. The work covers the viaduct and stations to Sector 9, the spur, a ramp to the depot at Sector 33 and an underpass at Bhaktawar Chowk.
A second foundation stone, for the start of building work, was laid in September 2025, as PTI reported. Indian Infrastructure reported GMRL casting the first pile in February 2026. At the end of August 2026 the first 160-tonne U-girder, a precast beam of the viaduct, went up near Cyber Park. Reports in 2026 give 2028 as the target for Phase 1, and 30 months from the August 2025 award also comes to early 2028.
Phase 2: Sector 9 to Cyber City
Phase 2 takes the line through old Gurgaon and Palam Vihar to Cyber City. The stations named in the October 2026 tender reports are Sector 7, Sector 4, Sector 5, Ashok Vihar, Sector 3, Bajghera Road, Palam Vihar Extension, Palam Vihar, Sector 23A, Sector 22, Udyog Vihar Phase 4, Udyog Vihar Phase 5 and Cyber City. Near Cyber City it is to meet the Rapid Metro at Moulsari Avenue station.
On 1 October 2026 the Haryana government cleared a civil tender of ₹1,662 crore, GST included, for the viaduct, stations and track; signalling, power and design are separate contracts. The tender was floated a few days later. The World Bank, which is funding it, gave its approval in June 2026, as reported. Reports give Phase 2 as 14.2 km or 15.3 km, with 13 or 14 stations; the higher count may include Sector 9.
The spur to Gurugram railway station
A 1.8 km spur from Sector 5 to Gurugram railway station was added after the 2023 approval. GMRL's board approved it in October 2025, and the consultant RITES put its cost at about ₹450 crore. In May 2026 the Haryana cabinet approved its supplementary project report and kept ₹454.32 crore for it inside the revised cost, as The Pioneer reported. We found no report yet of a tender for it.
The metro lines running now
Yellow Line. The Delhi Metro's Yellow Line runs about 49 km from Samaypur Badli in Delhi to Millennium City Centre Gurugram, which was called HUDA City Centre until it was renamed on 3 July 2023. It meets the Rapid Metro at Sikanderpur.
Rapid Metro. The Rapid Metro has 11 stations on about 11.6 km, between Sikanderpur, Cyber City and Sector 55-56. After its private operator backed out, the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) took the line over under a High Court order, and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation took over running it on 22 October 2019. Since September 2025 its operations have been moving to GMRL, as reported.

None of these has its final approval, and any of them can change or stall.

Buying near a planned station
If a brochure sells a flat or a shop on "the upcoming metro", check three things before you pay extra for it.
- Is the line approved? Only the Millennium City Centre to Cyber City line is being built.
- Where is the station? Find it in GMRL's papers, not the brochure, and measure the walk from the gate.
- When will it open? Phase 1 is aimed at 2028; Phase 2 was only tendered in October 2026.
Sector 48, on Sohna Road, has a station on the Phase 1 lists; projects there include Aura Vantaje. On the Dwarka Expressway, for a project such as Westin Residences in Sector 103, check the distance to the Sector 101 station at the end of the spur. Stamp duty is charged on the circle rate when the deal price is lower, and those rates rose in many areas in April 2026: see Gurgaon's circle rates for 2026-27.
