Reliance MET City Plots Jhajjar: HRERA Numbers, Plot Sizes and Checks

Reliance MET City is a township in Jhajjar district, Haryana, built by Model Economic Township Limited (METL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries. The township covers about 8,250 acres. Most of it is industrial, but METL also sells residential and shop plots in separate projects, and each of those has its own HRERA registration. This page lists the registrations we found and what to check before you buy a plot there.

A correction. An earlier version of this page said the RERA number was still to come, ticked boxes saying the title was clear and the plots were ready for registry, and called MET City the only green-certified township in North India, without a source for any of it. It also mixed up the township's industrial and residential parts. Those claims are gone. Every registration below is from HRERA Panchkula's own records.

The registered projects

HRERA Panchkula, which covers Jhajjar, lists these projects with METL as the promoter. All are in tehsil Badli.

METL also has shop-plot projects in the township, such as MET Highway Mart (Sector 7A, 45 plots of 90 to 126 sq m) and MET Supermart (Sector 8, 50 plots of 63 to 108 sq m). These are listed with HRERA as applications.

What the plot sizes mean

HRERA records plot sizes in square metres. One square metre is about 1.196 sq yd, so:

• 84 sq m is about 100 sq yd, and 150 sq m about 179 sq yd (the common sizes in Pockets J and K);
• 223 sq m is about 267 sq yd, and 1,230 sq m about 1,471 sq yd (the range in MET Habitat).

Price

METL does not publish a price list in its HRERA filings, and we found no price from METL itself that we could check. Brokers quote rates by phone. Ask for the price in writing from METL or its appointed sales partner, with the plot number, and check it against the registration it falls under.

For scale: METL reported residential bookings of about Rs 1,004 crore in 2023-24, up 70% on the year before, and said more than 540 companies from 10 countries had taken land in the township.

Before you buy a plot

• Match the plot to a registration. Ask which HRERA registration your plot falls under, and look it up on haryanarera.gov.in. A plot outside every registered project should not be sold as part of one.
• Read the completion date. The due dates above are METL's own filings. Check whether an extension has been granted since.
• Check the licence. Each filing names the Town and Country Planning licence that covers it (for example, licence 214 of 2022 for MET Habitat). Ask to see it.
• Pay no more than 10% before the agreement. Section 13 of the RERA Act bars a promoter from taking more than 10% of the cost before a registered agreement for sale.
• Count the charges. Ask for the cost sheet with EDC, IDC, PLC for corner or park-facing plots, and stamp duty at registry.
• Watch out for look-alikes. Some colonies near MET City advertise themselves by its name. A project that is not METL's is not part of MET City, whatever its sales page says.
